I’ve smelled it on myself before. Desperation. One day, you’re on fire. You’re auditioning, getting callbacks, booking left and right, upside down, round and round. If you’re not auditioning, you’re booking. If you’re not booking, you’re already on set. Feels so good. Checks are in the mail. Then one day, the bottom drops out. A harsh winter hits. Famine. Why aren’t they calling? How come I’m not being sent out? FUD sets in. Fear. Uncertainty. Doubt. Don’t let it. It will mess you...
read moreYou can always tell the serious actors apart from the others. They show up for the audition which is 80% of success right there. Back is straight, shoulders back, chin up. There’s eye contact. A smile. A confident energy, not cockiness. They can hold a conversation. Smell that? What…don’t smell anything? Good, I don’t smell desperation either. They dress to suggest the part. They have a professional headshot with a resume attached to the back of it. They made a choice about the character long before they walked into...
read more*UPDATE*: Audition invites have been emailed out. If you did not receive an invite, please do not be discouraged. You will be kept on file for possible future episodes. Also, please check your SPAM/BULK folders just in case your email software doesn’t like my long-ass email address. Thank you to all the talented actors who submitted. Next up: auditions! I’ll keep you posted on how it goes. Until then, good luck, and good night!

read moreIt’s Wednesday and I’m still getting great submissions from a load of talented actors. I’d still like to see more submissions for all characters. Keep ‘em coming! That means YOU! read moreI’m kicking off a new project and am looking for actors. The project is an action/comedy web pilot that I intend to turn into a webseries or web mini-series. I’m seeking five actors for the pilot. One character is a series regular and another is a recurring character. Both of these particular actors will need to be able to commit to future episodes, within reason of course. Barring any extreme conflicts, emergencies, other major availability changes, I’d like to keep the same cast in all future episodes and/or spin-offs. ...

read moreYou gotta love WordPress. It’s so easy to grab a template and tweak it to fit your needs. I can’t believe I used to hardcode my website back in the day. And it didn’t have nearly all the cool functionality it has today. There’s still a fair amount of work that has to be done when using WordPress. The fact that it does have so much functionality almost creates too many choices. It practically requires you to do a lot of customization. But here it is. The new, and hopefully improved, jasonfong.com. I hope you enjoy it....
read moreNight two of shooting the short film RELUCTANT in which I play a serial killer who dabbles in torture, intimidation, humiliation, and various rapey activities with innocent young women. Once again, I’m playing completely against type since my overall real-life vibe is pretty laid back and nice. It’s strange, in one market I’m the go-to guy for technology industrials explaining anything from cloud-computing to virus protection. In another market, I’m the go-to guy for intense, creepy, and abusive killer types....
