Last week the crew at Film School Rejects held an X-Men First Class movie poster design contest. The reason? The official studio-backed posters that were released of Michael Fassbender as Erik/Magneto and James McAvoy as Charles/Professor X were deemed awful by the internet masses. Nothing says bromance like faces in crotches.
Anyway, I whipped up a quick and dirty design for the FSR contest in Photoshop. I didn’t win but I got a mention on their site. You can see my design right here in this post or at Film School Rejects along with the winning designs and other runners-up. Congrats to the winner. Let me know what you think of my design. (To the font geeks out there, see if you can name that all-too-common movie font in the tagline. It’s used on only a gazillion movie posters.) If you’d like to know how I threw this together, let me know. Maybe I’ll post a tutorial – trust me, it’s dead simple for any Photoshopper with a bit of experience.
